The US Health Problems

Health ReformSpring of 1996. Processes are going on on Capitol Hill that will be shown afterwards on foreign chanels only. Neither of well-known American chanels has aired or discussed that event. Many years have passed since that was remembered.

Doctor Linda Peeno – a medical inspector of “Humana” insurance company, as well as the Medical Director of “Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association” (BCBSA), makes the following claim:

“I would like to make a public announcement: in 1987 I caused a human death. I am bringing to your notice that I have been never punished for the given crime, more than that I was awarded. This act made me a good standing and quickly pushed me up the corporate ladder. I proved that I can do everything I was hired for, I was awarded a rank of a “good doctor”: I saved a half million dollars for my company. I refused to do an operation on a man. It could save his life...”

In June 2007 this claim was resonanced in the American press. As far as the USA is a democratic country and affirms the freedom of speech, such an event could not be left without public attention. Just 10 years have passed after Linda’s claim and people could watch the process on TV. Please note that just in 2007 people start talking of medical care reform and in 2008 Obama used it as his pre-election trum card. But it were not Americans that have spoken of that reform, politicians did. The Americans are speaking of it every time they visit a doctor or get an invoice for medical care by mail.

The “Humana” answer was very simple: Linda had never worked at our company; nobody had ever seen her, and the patient died wherefore he had bought a cheap insurance that had not defrayed costs of the operation he had needed.

Clintons’ reform or Hillary’s start in life

Realizing that all his attempts to reform the health services can put the lid on his career Bill Clinton takes a wise step. He appoints Hillary Clinton, who is the first lady at the time to the post of a reformer. Her task is to transfer the public health system under the government control, and organize free medical services for Americans. The republicans’ answer was rather simple but very effective. The debates in Congress were organized; the community outreach was carried out in a rude but a very effective way. A kind of audio-propaganda was recorded – an actor imitating Ronald Reagan’s voice told the people of all the horrors of socialism and called the health service reform a first step towards the situation in the USSR. The experts proved afterwards that the recorded voice was not that of Reagan and nobody argued. In fact nobody stated that it had been Reagan, except the man whose voice had been recorded. They found the man. He turned out to be an actor. Because of such a small fry as the audio-record Americans started burning Hillary Clinton’s jack-straws in public.

In due time Hitler wisely used radio but it was a long time ago. Who would think about it that the republicans could successfully play with one piece of a magnetic tape many years later? Bernard Shaw once said: “I don’t like history because that science is useless, people do not draw any conclusions from it...” Americans don’t read Bernard Show, Americans don’t know their history. That factor allows the deaf administration to rule the blind society without fear of taking even the most corrupt, stupid and inhuman decisions. Yet we will discuss it in other articles and now let’s go back to the health system.

American Medical Association contributed vast sums of money to different republican foundations. On a conservative estimate 100 million dollars were collected for the campaign against Hillary Clinton’s reforms. The reform was voted down for Americans but not for Clinton. The first lady became a well-known political figure. Literally in the course of two years she obtained support from millions of Americans and congressional establishments. This brings up the question: for what? What did she do that any other Congressman could not do? The answer is simple – the reform was initially self-defeating. And even if there was the smallest opportunity of its passing, Bill Clinton would never give it to a man standing far from politics, because any successful reform means additional poll numbers, the support of the people and untrammeled pathway to further reforms. To initiate a reform means to stand against such giants like insurance and pharmaceutical companies. What donations do the Congressmen live on? Who donated money to Obama for enrolling such a pre-election campaign including the cost of the Nobel Prize? The republican Rick Santorum received 980 000 dollars of donations from the “health industry” in 2005-2006. Hillary Clinton who collected 854 000 dollars from the same health industry in the same years comes next.

The most curious fact is that in 2008 in the course of the election campaign, 80% of all Hillary’s donations moved from the same industry. And now Obama made her a decision-maker for realization of the health service reform. He motivated his decision by saying that Hillary has a wealth of experience in this matter. Generally Obama pleases me with his appointments: Hillary had voted down the health reform in the past – she is engaged in that matter now, George Bush Jr. failed the delivery of assistance and money collection for victims of “Catherine” hurricane, therefore he was named for a man in charge of salvage services to Haiti. A joke comes to mind that according to the new constitution of the Republic of Belarus; only a man with at least 10 years of profession experience can stand for the presidency. The same situation is now in the USA. I declaimed against it at first but now I consider it to be a kind of humorous.

Wilbert Josser Tosin II – for simplicity I will call him just Billy. A lobbyist and a politician as well as the president and the managing director of “PhRMA” company (the lobbyist pharmaceutical company). He had been a Member of the House of Representatives from 1980 till 2005. In 2003 he worked out the “Modernization and improvement of medical insurance” act that was signed by George Bush Jr. The act was signed and 800 billion dollars were taken from the budget in favor of pharmaceutical and insurance companies. After it was signed, drugs for elderly people get up to 30%, and 15 congressmen were employed by these companies with good six-null salary. Billy’s salary at the company “PhRMA” was 2 million dollars per year.

I got used to that system so much that if the people on forums did not ask me, I would have never written about these things as it is evident to me. And not only that i read a lot, but since i face that system every day. By the way there are many non-govermental organisations in the USA and their aim is to destroy enforceable standards of the health service and bring back health to people. Just have a look at expantion rates of insurance companies’ shares and incoms. They are incredibly growing from year to year, and what that grows means – they spend less money on health service payments for ordinary Americans. At the same time the nation’s health is badly worsening. To be fair it should be noted that Americans are a sick nation in general. It is assosiated with hormonal food, motionless way of life and, of course with lack of culture. Everithing necessary is made for the nation to enjoy good health: excellent gymnasiums, cheap sport sections, but the situation is quite opposite, because all that is not ballanced and there is no physical harmony. Starting from early years Americans are forced to take drugs; mothers are feeding their children with food from “McDonalds”. You will nowhere see that a 2-year boy is eating a “Big-Mac” and drinking cola with ice. Here is an example of a standard advert on TV: “You are coughing? – It could be lung cancer, go to the doctor and buy our pills”. Here is another one: “My child was sleeping badly at night, it turned out to be brain cancer...” etc. Having watched such adverts mothers are running to buy precaution drugs, elderly people are calling for doctors. Far and by the system works, people’s purses become empty and farmaceutical companies continue working by all utmost means.
